About Maddie

If you’re struggling with your ADHD diagnosis, I can help because I’ve been there too. I lived with it undiagnosed until I was 48. Like many women, it was misdiagnosed as anxiety and depression.
After a lifetime of supporting CEOs to excel, but being increasingly frustrated at not being able to replicate the same success in my own life, the late-diagnosis explained so much. My hyper-focus at work left me nothing left to give. I was too busy looking after everyone else’s needs, that I’d neglected my own.

My diagnosis was a key that unlocked years of misunderstanding; but also a period of grief for what ‘could have been’ had I known sooner.

Since leaning into my diagnosis and learning more about how ADHD presents in females; I turned to what I know best, using my life-experience to ‘EA’ myself. Now I understood the why behind my impulsiveness and dopamine chasing behaviours, I could now layer up the support needed to mitigate them. At the same time, I stopped trying to numb my life just to get through it by hiding in my phone and drinking. I put back things into my schedule I enjoyed doing.

Through trial and error, I’ve reprioritised my life, finding fun, balance and increased energy along the way.

My niche? I am living like a person I want to be around; while being the adult I needed while I was growing up. I build connections by (over)sharing my vulnerability and living life unfiltered.

Like many people with ADHD, I’m a life-long learner. I supplemented my EA experience with a variety business qualifications, including Project Management disciplines and a Diploma of Management. I’ve also a Diploma of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, am an EFT Practitioner, and am a registered Strategic Coach.

I was born and bred in the UK, but have lived in Australia for years. I’m married to the husband, we have a son ‘Mr A’, a cat and are getting better at keeping plants alive. I coach and write to share stories, breaking down perceived ADHD barriers and to make my corner of the world a better place.
